The Wye Beachfront Campground is the perfect place to base to yourself for an active holiday or just lazing away on the beach.
The surf club is located adjacent to the campground providing a safe swimming and fishing enviroment - or even diving for those of you who are more adventurous - with crayfish and abalone to be found if you have the correct liscence.
Ther are many great trails near Wye River that can be used for mountain biking. For the road riders, many enjoy a morning ride west towards Apollo Bay or a shorter ride east to Lorne - for a great coffee before the return leg.
Wye River is situated conveniently close to both Lorne Angahook Park and the Otway ranges - there are many spectacular bush walks and waterfalls to be found only a short walk away.
The Wye Beach Hotel is located a short stroll from the campground when you don't want to cook or just feel like a cocktail would be a perfect end to the day.
The Wye River General Store is just across the road from the campground and provides a wonderful variety of gourmet staples and is open for three meals each day.
Wye River boasts both point and shore breaking waves that can provide fun surfing for all skill levels - with a good length ride that performs better when the swell is larger.
There is a good selection of beach fishing available and some excellent rock platforms to fish off just a short stroll along the beach at Separation Creek. King George whiting, salmon & snapper are common. There is also mullet & bream fishing in the Wye River estuary.
The Wye River Heritage Trail is an easy 90 minute walk consisting of two loops that starts adjacent to the campground, and just one of the many nearby walks.
